Be a Santa Initiative: A Heartfelt Journey of Giving

Dear Reader,

As the festive season unfolds, we're thrilled to share a heartwarming chapter from our recent journey—the 'Be a Santa' initiative. With a simple contribution of Rs. 100, our classmates helped create magical gift bags filled with stationery and goodies for underprivileged kids.

Over two unforgettable days, we had the privilege of celebrating the true meaning of Christmas at ASHA Trust. Adorned with Santa hats, our donors delivered these bags to nearly 60 bright-eyed kids. The air was filled with laughter, joy, and the spirit of togetherness as we engaged in fun games, danced and sang together. There were plenty of pure moments of unbridled joy where the children, apprehensive at first, opened up and displayed their prowess at rap songs, reel-dancing and mimicry!

On the first day, after starting with a game of passing the parcel, we broke out into smaller groups to play a game called 'January-February' that is currently popular amongst children of 5th to 7th grade. The evening ended with us sharing food with the children while sitting barefooted and cross-legged on the grass. The morning of the second day introduced us to a group of younger children who were shy but opened up in time to teach some of us the dance steps to a popular reel song! The morning concluded with a group dance to the famous Marathi song called 'Zingaat'.

But our story doesn't end there. In the true spirit of giving, we extended our gratitude to the housekeeping staff at SDABAC where we gifted a few bags to their little ones.

The smiles on the faces of these children echoed the success of our initiative, reinforcing the belief that small acts of kindness can make a profound impact.
